Badrinath Vishnu Temple Pilgrimage Center India

Badrinath Temple is a famous Hindu pilgrimage destination located in the hill town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India.  It is the most famous temple devoted to Lord Vishnu. The speciality of Badarinath Vishnu Temple is that worship services are done only six months in a year.  That is the temple usually opens in the last week of April and first week of November. Badrinath Temple was built by 9th century saint Guru Adi Shankaracharya. The temple enshrines the idol of Lord Badrinarayan which was originally found by Adi Shankara in the holy Alakananda River. The image of Lord Badrinarayan is made of Saligram stone (Shaligram is a dark black stone which is believed to be the representation of Lord Vishnu. Badrinath Temple is also one of the four Chardham Temples in Himalayas, the other three being Kedarnath Temple of Shiva, Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple.
